Parallel Lines

Liz Mason
Theme:
All photos adhered strongly to the theme. (Although the contestant sort of cheated by photoshopping in the parallel lines in Time)
Originality:
Buying Time is good for a chuckle but makes a good use of contrasting the parallel lines to the curved container (with a bit of sneaky product placement).
While her opponents Stone and her Invasion seem similar, they both hit different notes of the same key, Liz shows organic growth while Dave shows a more sterile brick.
Overall Quality:
Tunnel of Light is my favorite of the set. The lines are ever so slightly curved (and out of focus the background suggests it) but they appear "almost" parallel. Another favorite is Tetanus Shot. This photo contains numerous sets of parallel lines, even the shoestrings. All the various intersections of these makes for an clever image.
General Comments:
Once again, showing the stronger set wins her the competition.

Originality:
Railroad tracks are a pretty obvious choice, as seen in Industry but the overall image compensates. To Be Different is To Be Alone was an interesting choice, contrasting knives (parallel) to the outsider, the hammer (odd choice of background color, although it does give a stronger appearance to the knives).
Overall Quality:
My favorite photo is definitely Stone. You can almost feel the texture of the bricks as they try to be parallel but alas, were placed by human hands. Unfortunately Age felt like a really weak piece, it doesn't feel like it adds anything to the set.
General Comments:
A strong showing (with a notable exception).
